Marlin Spike

The Marlin Spike is a tool used in marine rope-work, sometimes called a fid, marlinspike, marine spike or rope splicing spike. Shaped in the form of a polished metal cone tapered to a rounded or flattened point, they aid in such tasks as unlaying rope for splicing, untying knots, drawing marline tight using a marlinspike hitch, and as a toggle joining ropes under tension in a belaying pin splice.
Hand machined from 1/2" diameter brass, copper, 655 silicon bronze or grade 5 titanium, this feels great in the hand, and would make a great addition to your camping gear, go-bag, etc.
